I wasn't sure where to put this post. I have been a member (#351) since Sept. '03. My last post was 9/04 and I am posting this so that I don't get dropped from membership. Wow! I can't believe there are over 4800 members of this forum. That's 4500 in the two years since I joined. That's a great...

    50 cal squirrel loads

If it's a Thompson Center Hawken, TOW carries a Green Mountain .32 cal conversion drop-in barrel that should do squirrels quite nicely, Bought one myself a while ago, just haven't fired it yet. Price was a lot more reasonable than buying one from GM.

Yeah, you gotta watch the Altoids tins. Some are embossed and some have the name just painted on.

A full face shield (like is used for grinding) in addition to the glasses, will protect the rest of your face.

    "Halloo the camp!"

Ironsights, Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info here. I was raised in Roscoe, on the Monongahela river about 18 Miles from Johnstown and have been to Fort Necessity several times in the past, mostly on the way to the auto junkyard in Farmington. Is it still there? I'll probably stop in at...

    Casting round balls

Ironwood, Yes, I am interested. I am trying to locate bee keepers in the Denver area, but haven't had much luck. I think that there was a disease or something, that wiped out a lot of the bees around here several years ago. I have a buddy that used to raise them but does no longer. Maybe he's...

    Casting round balls

I hear ya. Kind of like a mailman taking a hike on his day off. Thanks for the info. It really helps me to understand the casting process a lot better.

Hank, I went to the local Hobby Lobby and found beeswax blocks for $11/# I thought that was pricey so I'll wait to see what you come up with.

OK, everybody, raise your left hand as high as you can. Save your watches; it's too late to save your boots. :haha:

What tools are needed for Beginner Project?

I found a 6" dial caliper at Harbor Freight (Harbor Freight.com) that works pretty well, for about $15. Most of their eqiupment is made in Asia, but if you watch yourself, you can come up with some pretty good tools at a good price. But it's strictly "buyer beware" when shopping there.

    .50 caliber pistol kit

Well, here it is, three months later and I've had a lot of time to think about it. In late December, I figured that since I had the Sportsman Warehouse store credit for the price if the Trapper kit, I'd buy another one and see if the previous one was just a fluke. Well, they were out of the kits...
