Alliant Black MZ Black Powder Substitute

Has anyone tried Alliant Black MZ Black Powder Substitute in their rifles. Looking at trying some. 777 is very accurate in my rifle but you have to use wet patch, dry patch before you can seat another ball. Thanks

    Mystery Muzzle Loader

The barrel is longer than 24 inch and I don't believe there was a wood forearm.

No writeing on barrel and you can barely make out Foster on the side of action. It appears to be probably a 36 cal.

    45 cal long rifle

I was at the range today shooting my 50 cal and a young man came up with a 45 cal long rifle and was wanting some information on how much black powder to use with round ball. He wants to deer hunt with it and had shot a few with 60 gr of the old Dupont black powder and wondered if that was...

    Cleaning black powder rifles

I'm new here and new to shooting real black powder. I don't know if this is the right place to ask these questions but here goes. A old timer (I'm 72) gave me this advise. Mix equal parts of Murphy Oil Soap, Denatured alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide to clean with. Pour 4 oz in barrel after...

    Newbe

I came on what I thought was a good deal yesterday at a yard sale. None of this is for sale, I'm keeping it. I bought a TC Hawkins, with original barrel and a fast twist barrel. Five pounds of black powder, seven tins of 11 caps, two boxes of minne balls, five boxes of round balls, very nice...

    Dupont black powder

I got a package deal on a TC Hawkins this weekend and 5 cans of Dupont FF came with the rifle. All are unopened but with a little rust on the outside of cans. I know nothing about using BP as I have been using 777 in my other BP. I'm wondering if this powder is safe. :idunno:
