Oh that’s nice. A repro of 1775 I guess Maybe a bit later as it’s not quite a queen Anne style , but the acorn is. Oh lovely

Shot my new flintlock. Definitely a learning curve compared to the caplock.
60 grains Schutzen 3fg
.490 ball

50 yds off hand with a nasty cross wind today. Got 3 of 5 on the 10” circle. Not too happy with that but it will get better. Think my elevation is getting better with it at least. Was low last week.

Since 80 year old eyes no longer see iron sights well I dug out my remaining T/C firearms and all their accessories and sorted them out getting them ready to see about selling. That was the extent of my muzzle loading stuff done yesterday.

follow through, follow through, follow through! don't ask how i learned this. much more important with a flinter than a cap!
i tend to start relaxing at the flash in the pan. i can shoot a pattern, er , group like yours at 25 feet if i concentrate on follow through. :ghostly:

Oscar there is a member on the site that makes a peep sight that fastens I believe with the tang screw, no drilling or tapping required. The only thing is you may need a longer tang screw not sure, perhaps he will join in the post. It would keep ya shooting.

dovetailed the sights on my pistol. installed them and started filing!
just about got it. shoots 3" high at 30 feet. 6oclock hold and am on. almost filed away the blade in front and notched the back to the base almost.
playing with the sights got me 12 shots so it was fun!
