You never know until you try it. I used to work for a marine supply company that had their version of WD40 (right on )bottled in to small spray cans. One batch failed their tests so they gave it away to the workers a six pack at a time until it was gone. I tried some on my shotgun and it really was better than the WD 40 I had been using. So who knows?Try it and see if you like it. I doubt it could be worse than Rem Oil.

Never tried it but think I may have heard it. My dad used to say bet you a dollar to a donut but dounuts are up in price since then. But I’ll follow his wager that it will work well. I can’t say from 3 and one to lard to mink and olive oil on to barristol and hoppes gun oil, I’ve yet to find any difference
Routine mantince seems to make any oil work

Exactly. Many here would absolutely positively go apoplectic at my lubricating oil for firearms. I have a quart jar that I save all drippings from oil cans and gear lube in. SAE 20w, 0w-16, 0w-20, SAE 30, ND30, 5w-30, 15w-40HD, 75w, 75-85w, 80-90w, and last but not least 00 liquid grease. It all gets saved and I shake the heck out the jar before use. Works great and is free. I'm sure some tribologist will be along shortly to tell me it is bad. All that really matters is the moving parts have a sufficient quantity of lubrication. Nothing more.

Uhmm.. not really up on my latin and not to ruin what I guess was a good joke but a tribologist is not a trilobite. A tribologist is one who studies oil. Or maybe I missed something this morning, I am a bit beat from work.
