My daughter got me a couple gun socks for my muzzleloaders, They are the Remington brand "silicon cotton gun socks " . They fit good and will keep the dust off them, but I was told they can trap moisture and cause rust. Any thoughts or opinions ? -Thanks

I keep most of my ML and unmentionable rifles and handguns in these to keep them from bumping into each other in my safe and have never had any issue with rust or anything else. Been storing this way for many years. I do have the safes in a climate controlled area and I keep desiccant containers in the safes as well.

I live on a peninsula surrounded by saltwater. Every firearm I own wears one of those in the safe. IME, they don’t cause rust, they prevent rust!
