PitchyPine,

A friend bought a Cabela's Blue Ridge and found that the stock was splintered on the forend. He called Cabelas the next day and they told him to send it back. In a couple days his new rifle showed up. GW

I did call Cabela`s and they said they would gladly refund my money or replace the gun, no complaints with Cabela`s from me.
It`s just the way the lock was made and i`m sure after i nag enough and try some different flints i will be a happy camper.
Wait till i drop my first deer with it then you`ll hear some paise.

Pedersoli makes the Blue Ridge as well as the Frontier rifle which you can get with extra fancy wood. But they are expensive. Cost more than a semi custom rifle from TVM, Early Rustic Arms or some other builders.

Thanks Rebel, they have some nice looking guns at a fair price.
Thanks Paul for helping me set up my lock properly this morn and everyone else for their help. Shot today and it worked flawlessly with the new properly adjusted flint.
Now i just need to tighten up my groups some. :)

Hello Pitchy,
You picked an excellent rifle. After toting a Great Plains around, the Blue Ridge was pure pleasure. Mine is in .45 cal. I didn't like the front sight, because it was too thick for me. I replaced it with a tall Ted Cash German Silver front sight blade from Dixie. This is much thinner and gives a good sight picture. I shot in several Mountain Man matches with it and did pretty well. It's still my favorite rifle to take to the field. It's never let me down.

The more i shoot it the more i like it, great looking rifle imo.
Yepper that front sight is a little wide, nice clear sight pic other than that. My eyes are getting bad with objects a foot or closer so that rear sight placed far down the barrel works out well for me.
Good shooten.
