Last time someone spoke of these a moderator shut it down. I was thinking though, we are speaking of the cap and ball version and they didn't like it, but everyone praises the ROA and it wasn't invented until 1972....Hypocrisy much?

Oops, I didn't know that.
 
I'm fine with it... I've been interested in getting one but been buying shotguns lately. I just thought it was funny the moderator mentioned 1865 yet the ruger old army is talked about and sold as much as any other revolver on this forum and it's a design unto itself from 1972. I wanted to say something then, but obviously it was shut down. That was the last post. Interestingly enough it was a hot topic the 1873

Just read the rules. No weapons made, or designed , or copies of weapons made after 1865 are allowed. IIRC, the Ruger was a modified ROA, with modern springs and metal. Bill Ruger really liked the Remington pistols. That's how it is permitted.
It's really pretty simple to follow the rules.
