I don't know if I spell it correctly
My friend has a 58 caliber Zoolie musket
is it normal that the rifling don't go to the end of the barrel
they stop at about 1/64 inches before the end
I heard that it had progressive rifling
so again is it normal that they stop before the end of the barrel
thank you
Michel

DO you mean Zouve pronounced zoo like where animals are kept and uve like ol in olive. If so then if it is a Zouve I have seen these guns most made in italy with all kinds of rifling depends on maker.

Think he has an Italian musket made by Antonio Zoli.

As for the rifling, it sounds like normal muzzle chamfering. Kind of hard to tell anything without pictures.

the three groove Zouave's shoot pretty well with a patched RB.
