Your Ideal Hunting Muzzleloader?

Maybe you own or dream of it, perhaps you've got it all spec'd out in your head as what you'd build or have built. Probably dependent on where you live or what game you hunt, but if you had to sit down at "the drawing board" what would you come up with? Full stock, half stock, barrel caliber, size, length, make, lock style make, double or single set trigger, single trigger, sights, hardware and so on. Or maybe there's a commercially produced guns that fits your ideal.

The fowler on the bottom has been my go to for a long time, I just got the Fusil so that will be this years go to. The fowler has killed alot of squirrels still waiting for that deer.
Both are .62 smoothbore guns.

My .45 go-to for many years and if I didn't already have it I'd choose it for a dream rifle. BUT! If money were no object a Jeager or Woodsrunner in .54 sure would be nice. This is a L Lancaster, .45 X 36" X 7 lbs.

I have not tried that particular barrel, but I have used the .56 calibre drop-in smoothbore on the Renegade. Wow, nice product

My 12 gauge double is mine. Now if I could find a 16 gauge black powder double, I'd be very interested.

I like the hawken too, but wish I could have one with a flatter butt plate. Not a fan of the deep curve.

It really takes some getting used to…I turn my shoulder black & blue every time I forget to shoot off my bicep.

I was really averse to them before having shot them, but for whatever reason I find them quite comfortable to shoot.

I remember seeing a photo of a custom one a while back with a flat butt plate.

I like my TC Renegades ,why I own several , Rice 1-17 stock 1-48 and 2 Bob Hoyt ball shooters 1-55/1- 60 GM .In 45 50/54 and They all have one thing in common (Flat butt plate) Ed
