Pards,
I know that I have been to the websight of the maker of this axe, but in my old age if I don't mark it, I forget very easy. It has a "M" stamped on the blade and is one of the type's of axe sold by Track of the Wolf and at Crazy Crow. Neither of them identifies the smith. I have used my search engine, but can't fine it. Many thanks in advance.

Ain't that the Ft. Miegs axe by Davis Locks out of Perrysburg, Ohio? I believe it is!!!

Cooner,

No it's not R E Davis. If you check TOW's websight all of this type axe have the same type handle. There are several different type heads not as many on Crazy Crow, but it is an indivdual maker who makes this particular type hawk and axe. Many thanks for the reply.

i have one, its a nice axe. made in USA i believe.
if it wasn't it would be marked with country of origin. no clue as to who or what the "M" is for.

Westminster Forge offered an axe like that about 10 or 11 years ago. Not sure if they still do or not, I don't see it on their web site but you may email them and ask. Could be the "M" is a "W"?

Just wondering if TOW would be able to supply you with that information? Might be worth a try.
