I used to shoot a lot of Meteor, as it was less expensive, and came in 5 lb. cans. That was in late '50's, early '60's.

And I didn't witness it, only heard about a Springfield .58 found at Gettysburg in 1961 that was loaded, and fired after replacing the cap.
 
Ya the Null B in 8 oz bottles is kind of wierd I bought a couple even knowing that. It is very finely graulated. With my limited Flintlock experience I did not notice a difference between it and 4F Goex as far as speed of ignition. My 40 Flintlock should be completed by next spring and I have a pound of Null B and 2 pounds of 4F goex so wont probably need powder for the pan for a long time and then I will just use whatever I put down the Barrel.
