I put a new vernier sight on my sharps carbine. The eye disc hole is so small you cannot see thru it. Even light does come thru. Is there a replacement or drill it out? I checked TOTW and nothing.
I have a Merit adjustable iris disk that works great.I use a Hadley Eye Cup on my Sharps. It has a rotating inner disc with graduated aperture sizes.
If you see like black durst in the hole, this one is too small...
I use this type of tools to adjust the holes : Bergeon 1896-H Smoothing Broach Assortment 0.05 to 0.30mm
Just where did you get the eye cups? I cannot find them.
There was a similar iris made in UK called "The IRIS Eyepiece". with 38/6 on the bottom of it's small blue box. I assume this is 36 shillings & 6 pence. Those were the days..I have a Merit adjustable iris disk that works great.
What make is your sight? That's the place to start to look for more eyecups.Just where did you get the eye cups? I cannot find them.
