I recently visited Colonial Williamsburg and found these on display in the Folk Art Museum. There were a few nice rifles and muskets in their collection, but these pistols stood out due to their unusual approach. You'll see that they are over-and-under doubles, but not swivel-breeched. Instead, the description explained that there is a roller mechanism in the bottom of the pan that allows priming to reach touch-holes on both barrels when fired. So, it appears that they cannot be fired as a repeater but only as two simultaneous balls (unless you load only one barrel).

I couldn't get a good picture of the pan (the flash distorted everything), but a small gap at the bottom was just visible if you look real close. Very nicely made, beautiful work. Just thought I'd share.
