Hi All, I recently got a Hopkins and Allen 45 cal underhammer rifle for my son. I've been going over it all to get it ready to shoot and noted that the nipple sits really far into the barrel. Is this normal or should there be a shorter nipple? Thanks.

The H&A nipples come in different thread lengths to match the barrel's wall thickness. They also come in two different threads, 1/4-28 and 1/4-32 with the former being most common. Track of the Wolf carries them and there is a link to that page below. Measure the threads per inch (TPI) and wall thickness before you order.
