I am trying to get the parts together for a .40 cal. (or possibly a .38) plain vanilla southern rifle w/single non-set trigger.
The only guards I have found are CAST and have a long bow for dbl. set triggers.
Is anyone making FORGED trigger guards w/shorter bow for single trigger for sale?

Thanks,
Davo

why not make your own? got to a hardware store get some
1/2 mild steel strap and bend it into a guard.

Once upon a time TOTW offered what they called a #TG-HF-I which had a 1 7/8" opening in the loop.

The "HF" stands for hand forged but it is really a casting. It has the squareish bow similar to this TG-TN-2-I guard but with a shorter bow length

They don't show it in their latest catalog but if you call them they may have a few in stock.

The opening in the top of their #TG-NC-I trigger guard is 1 3/4".

IMO, both of these are a bit too small for a double set trigger so they could be what you are after.

I may have to make my own...But I'll 1st have to make or get the use of a forge.
It's around "0" outside now so making anything til Spring is probably impractical.

Hey, DaC. See my question about Tennessee trigger guards down the list of topics about half a page. You could do almost everything to make your own without a forge. There are lots of sites online describing how to make small forges fired with propane or Mapp gas torches. I'm building a small forge to burn charcoal. My really good old blacksmithing stuff mostly disappeared in my divorce. A small forge will do me well. It will be big enough for trigger guard parts and knives.you may not be the brightest bulb, but you can figure it out.

PS
DaC and I are old friends.

Maybe, you could cut a piece out of a double, and weld it back.

Just a thought. :idunno:
