Up for sale is a recently completed totally handmade .45 cal North Carolina rifle made by Jim Fahling. Inspired by Whitson but not a bench copy of any one in particular. Rifle is new other than proof shots/sight in shots.

When drilling the ramrod hole, the bit got a little close so a handmade wear plate was installed. Fit and finish overall is really good.

Details are:

41 1/4” Ed Rayl straight barrel
Handmade sights
Forged trigger guard
Forged butt plate
L&R Manton lock (slightly reshaped)
Handmade thimbles
Tapered ramrod
Dru Hedgecock single lever, double set trigger
Hand carved hard maple stock
6.9 lbs overall weight
13 9/16” LOP

Price for this handmade rifle is $1350 shipped to lower 48. Please PM with any questions or offers.

Thanks for looking.

$1200 picked up in central Kentucky (or meet reasonable distance).
$1275 shipped.

When drilling the ramrod hole, the bit got a little close so a handmade wear plate was installed. Fit and finish overall is really good. Is that the picture at the end of the barrel at the ram rod channel?

That’s a picture of the wear plate used to reinforce that area. Quite a few originals required it…usually able to get that part right but sometimes the bit wanders so priced to reflect.
