"Trapper Pistol"?

Forgive me if this has been answered already, but I have not found the thread. Are there any historical examples of pistols styled like the CVA or Traditions trapper pistol? I see them all the time, but have never seen a historical example of a pistol like that.They almost remind me of a less refined Mortimer pistol. Thanks!

Pretty much a fantasy gun like most production muzzleloaders.

The Lyman Plains Pistol is closer to some originals.

Yeah, that's what I figured. They didn't even try to make it a facsimile of anything historical.

Its a little wild to me that they have been so popular.
