A good trigger is a must. Yet even a few ounce set trigger at times does not want to go off when shooting off hand. I can't explain why my finger turns to stone with paper targets but with all my deer I never remember pulling the trigger or releasing an arrow.
As I got older and the gun wiggles more I try to ignore it because if you make the gun fire as it crosses the bullseye you will miss farther.

I am the same, paper targets I struggle with exactly the same.
