Can the HUTS be lightly sanded to make more of a satin finish? The stock now has a dull satin finish that I like. I don't think I want to go with a glossy finish that I first thought.

use HUTS to smooth out the finish, it will get very highly glossed and very very even and smooth. then use pumice powder to cut back the gloss. it wont take much rubbing from the pumice powder on a cotton cloth with furniture oil to cut back the gloss. if you have only used watco oil and no varnish over the top of that it wont get the extreme gloss anyways. just a smooth soft glow like a well made piece of furniture. keep us posted.

Finally got finished with the rifle. I decided I didn't want a polished furniture look and left the wood somewhat rustic. I'm happy with the rifle and can foresee a another in the future. I have been contacted by a ladies genealogy group (Daughters of the Confederacy) to do a talk using my rifle. I'm looking forward to doing the program. Anyway here is a not so good picture of my rifle. Not fancy but I have a good time with the kit.
