The section on the right is blushed aquafortis. The section on the left is asphalt. The middle section is a combination of the aquafortis and asphalt. All of them were given several coats of a blend of linseed oil, varnish and turpentine. The pistol was finished with just the asphalt which is some roof patch thinned with warm naptha.
