I have an 58cal Enfield Two Band and I need to replace the rear sight or both rear and front. It shoots high (20 inches - or +) at 50 yards. What do you suggest?

you gotta raise the front or lower the rear, whatevers easier. i redrilled a peep sight in a spare rear blade on a zouave. not that familiar with the enfield, dixie have any spare sight parts?

Infantryboots,
I am assuming that your load is not a heavy one and that you are grouping high. If the aforementioned is true, then you need to raise your front sight (brings the muzzle down) or cut some of rear slight off. More than likely (My opinion) if you buy another rear sight it will shoot about the same unless you change the style of sight. I do not know if there are more than one style that is period correct for your rifle.

I had the same problem with my musketoon. I bought a real tall front sight blank from Dixie Gun works they make especially for CW-type muskets it is part number GS0706 & sells for $7.50. I removed the factory sight & soldered on the new.....it can then be filed down to suit your needs.
