Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Wood likely came from Freddie Harrisons outfit. Some of that ash is damn pretty if ya get the stain color right and it looks like Mr. Avance did. That lock should last forever. Bob is an icon in this industry. Is your barrel swamped or straight ? Sweet rifle. Enjoy.
That is a beautiful piece of wood. A good friend and I purchased to Curly Ash Stocks blanks from a guy in Missouri about 20 years back. We ordered two, 36", 1 1/8" .62 caliber barrels from Ed Rayl, locks from L&R, Large Hawken style. I helped him build him a few years back and now I'm working on mine. After testing a few stains on his stock he made some stain similar to what is on your rifle, a little orange and a little brown tint. The first rifle is amazing and I can't wait to get mine done by this coming summer.
Very nice rifle and good shooting.
