i am selling this unique 54 TVM southern mountain rifle with some regret. i just don't use it anymore as i have adapted to smaller calibers. this gun is unique from all other TVM rifles i have encountered. it was built and signed by Matt avance over 20 years ago, he told me so. it has beautiful curly ash wood that you can't get anymore, it also has a Bob roller lock that is marked with his signature on the inside. it is lightning fast! it has a nice condition 38in swamped rice barrel. this rifle is deadly accurate! the 3 shot group was shot by me off hand at 50yds. this gun was set up for hunting. it has the rear sight a bit forward and a good open notch so the front sight can be picked up and seen fast! it also has been set up for a Jaeger type sling. i made the heavy leather sling from a vintage horse rein. Mr. roller no longer makes his legendary locks, the LOP is right at 13 3/4 at the front trigger. this is a message he sent me when i asked about it.

Mike.
Thank you for the nice comments on my lock. That is a close copy of a Henry Nock and I made over 100
of them for a shop in Germany. It is very similar to the current L&R small Manton. Not many of these are
in the USA because at the time I was making them on an almost daily basis it was priced for Germany
and not the El Cheapo gotta be really cheap attitude of the Americans.I decided last August after I made
2 flint locks for Ric Lambert that I was done with lock making. My last caplock was a Hawken at least it
was externally but the mechanism was a copy of an English 3 screw of much higher quality than any
available in St.Louis back in "the day". Bob

the gun will be shipped in a wooden create UPS, $1750 shipped. if you need more photos let me know,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
