Im needing to ship a long rifle,,58" long,,having trouble finding a shipping box of that length,,I shipped one a couple weeks ago thru a carrier and was not satiesfied,,i let them package ot for me,,they wrapped it in bubble wrap was all,,when it got to the destintion, the hammer and toe of the stock was sticking out of the box,,luckily no damage occured or just some advice on shipping,,

For an expensive rifle get an 8 foot fluorescent light bulb box. Cut to what length you need. Make inside it a frame of wood and fit rifle wrapped in bubble wrap inside the frame so it cannot move. Tape box with filament tape then seal all the seems with glued paper tape. Then ship registered mail insured.

Won't be cheap but will get treated right.
