A R&S will have a boxed 2-letter code of the right side of the frame below the cylinder, if you care to share. My records indicate the serial you provided was a '97 manufacture which means that date code shoulde be BI. But you think you got it earlier and I might be mistaken, so the date code you see will clear it up.

Either way, R&S's are great revolvers. I was just out shooting one of mine yesterday afternoon.
