This old relic was once a beautiful Flintlock fowling piece by Durs Egg c.1785. It deserved a better life, but it has managed to survive. Just visible on the 34" barrel is D EGG LONDON, thanks to the original script being inlaid with gold. The foresight is a reminder of what the gun once was.

Well done on a very old piece that has been sadly neglected pity the rust is so deep removing it would have lost the name wire wool and wax remover will clean the wood and show the grain .I doubt if it would make a shooter
