Pyrodex shortage, newbie question

The black powder verses Pyrodex arguments remind me of the Ford verses Chevy arguments. Everybody has a preference. I got to laugh at some of them.
That comparison would be more like my old college days when Coors beer could only be bought in Colorado and Busch beer was available locally. Pyrodex and other substitute black powders are available to purchase where real black powder is not available. The substitutes work acceptably in percussion firearms. But I prefer real black powder and drink some locally produced craft beers.
