Found this pistol online, obviously homemade. Ingenious workaround for drilling that pesky ramrod hole straight and true. Just inlet a groove and install a brass thimble. I think even I with my bubba skills and tools could do this.
I would say he most likely drilled through the bottom of the blank, and didn't know the proper way to work around the problem. It is certainly nothing you would ever see on any of my guns.
