I've never tried shotcups in a muzzloader.

From what I got to sum it up. I think throw them away.
How did you get the cups into the gun? My pedersoli is 13ga it's from 79'
The commercial 12-gauge wads are "13-gauge" size. Think about it, the bore diameter is 12-gauge, then the shell is a bit smaller so it fits, then the wad is even smaller so it fits in the shell.

I pick up used plastic wads at the hunt club. Cut the bottom off and use the cups. They're free, I'm cleaning up the place and recycling and they work just as well as a new one.
