Does anyone have info on Palmetto barrels? I have an old barrel that I was told was from an old Hawken. It was used to build a matchlock around 1992. It is marked Dixie Gun Works, Palmetto Brescia Italy, Cal .45. I am trying to find the correct ball size for this and am a bit confused. I read the lands at .430. I do have some .424rb that will fit tight without a patch. Track's next closest size looks like .410. So maybe .018 or .020 patch. Seems odd that it is quite a bit smaller than .45cal.
