Ok fellows, I have ordered a custom barrel for my Hopkins and Allen style underhammer, which I built from a Deer Creek kit. The problem I need help with is this: I have and intend to use a Redfield globe front and an Anschutz rear on this barrel for my AMS matches. I need to come up with an open sight system that will be easily changed out between matches with a minimum point of impact change. Can some of you give me some ideas? I hope you can understand my problem. Oh, I intend to use this rifle in buffalo and light bench matches at Friendship.

Well being able to swap the sights out isn't really the tuff part, but maintaining an accurate POI after changing without a sight in is going to be the trick.
Sure you'll be close to point of aim/impact, but at Friendship you'll be far from competitive. You'd have to purchase and throw away at least one round just to dial it in.
Best would be to shoot the "Open Sights" 1st then go to the AMS.
You could get any fixed rear that has a base large/long enough so holes could be matched to your Anschtz, turn a few screws,,easy enough.
It's the front dovetail that'll give ya the most trouble. Drifting out the globe and getting the same back in,, the exact same alighnment is tough by it's self let alone change one to a different blade. I'm thinking even if you do begin swapping, it would be short order and the dovetail cut on the barrel will begin to disstress and get loose

Thanks for your thoughts. I have been wondering about maybe having a dovetail cut just ahead of the globe base and another in front of the Anschutz base. I would then install lower blade and rear open sights and leave them in a permanent position lower than the AMS sight line. Do you think this would work? :idunno:

Thank you! Any other suggestions?? What works for some other paper punchers?? I'm trying to get a bunch of ideas to mine here.

Just a thought,
I'm thinking a hooded front blade like that found on a Win 94. Something where the hood can simply be removed and installed.
Rear sight, yes install your rear open sight, then use the Lyman 57 SML tang sight, the peep section has a quick remove button.
It'll require useing something other than what you have,,but thats whats kinda hampering yer ideas. :idunno:
