I bought a T/C Grey off a family member for my first muzzleloader. I’m now going to purchase a Traditions .50 caliber soon. I’m stuck between a Hawken and a Kentucky Rifle. I wanted to get opinions on pros and cons of each.

Kentucky.

Or get a Hawken.

So your kid sister, mom, granny and little girl down the street can borrow it.

P.S. Kentucky's are much more customizable. And the 1:66 twist is GREAT with PRB. I own several.

The Hawken, it has the bridled lock w/fly, double set triggers and the hooked breech barrel makes it easier to remove for cleaning.

The current Traditions "kentucky" is a 1-48 twist and that split stock still has issues unique to a split stock
