I have finished a new early 18th C sleeved waistcoat. Its green broadcloth and like all my other equipment its handstiched and based on several historical sources. This one is inspired by a jacket from the royal swedish shipwreck Kronan from late 17th C.

I thought it would be fun to take the skis out.

One of the dogs came along as well. Samoyed dogs dont make good hunting dogs but they make good company. This is with the whole outfit and coat over the waistcoat.

Very nice coat and the rest of the gear looks great as well congrats on a well studied and made outfit.

Thank you all, I wish i wasn´t so lazy on my blog. I used to write a english summary on every article but ran out of steam. :idunno: I guess there are good translationprogram and if there are questions, just ask.

The material used in the waistcoat is green broadcloth and its lined with ordinary white linen. The buttons are special casted brassbuttons after finds. They are attached with a leatherstrings tied to the backside of the fabric.

The trousers are made of grey wadmel, which is a coarse and heavy felted fabric. Wadmel or vadmal is a historical term for all kind of non-industrial made woollen fabrics in Sweden. A fabric that could be made at home. The garters are woven by me, its woolyarn in the colours red an natural black.

The bag is inspired by two huntingbags from the Museum of Jönköping. More pics of it here: http://kurage.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/gravlingsvaska/

And who said the old time hunters were not a class act,eh..
Great job. I can even imagine your four legged buddy doing his part as guard against wolves ..

Thanks for sharing.
Twice.

It wasnt that cold this day, just below freezing. I´m going to make some kind of fur cap, there are several swedish preserved headgear from 1700-1850, like this one from Vånga in Sweden. These furcaps from Vånga could could be lined with lamb fur and trimmed with fox, dog or hare.

Great pics! Thanks!
Ain't it just like a dog to want to come up and sit on your foot? I love it! :haha:

Thank you all!

My dog (or dogs, I got two of these  ) likes to sit on my foot or be in my way most of the time. Lucky for them that they are cute, the charm anyone.

The stock is just ordinary birch I guess from Sweden or perhaps Norway. I think it is nice with some bright wood with iron furniture.
