Hi All, a while back I made up a new barrel for my .45 Hawken plains rifle as I thought I could improve my barrel making, I gave the old barrel to my mate who had a Traditions .50 cal rifle. He was rapped to find that the barrel fitted straight in to his Traditions stock. So I have just received a .500" gun drill from Ebay and will be making a .50 cal barrel to fit into my Hawken, all is made from 1" round 12/15 steel= 1136. Will be 20" long with eight groves and 1-48" twist, should get our red deer`s notice. Cheers over there, Hombrew.357.
