Using my Canon Power Shot 730 SX on video and about 100x telephoto setting I caught the flight of a ball at the bear target at a match at our range. It's a relatively simple small point and shoot camera that works pretty good.

First one was good, after that your posed,, those suck,, honest.
He's not going to be the next guru,, but snap a 1,000 pic's on the chip, you guy's might get 1 or 2 that are good,

i have a small canon video camera that you can set the frame rate to catch a hummingbirds wings almost stopped. i used it to catch a bullet from a unmentionable that shoots a 55g bullet at 4000fps.
problem is i forgot how to use it. being old sucks.
my Brother has been a pro photographer with studio and all for 40 years. i asked him last weekend what camera to buy. a new model Iphone was his recommendation. go figure.
