I really don’t think cast on or off or a filed muzzle would bug me...... especially if it made me shoot better. :thumbsup:
 
Muzzle filing and stock bending/alteration are two different things.

You file the muzzle because the gun does not shoot to point of aim when the sight is properly aligned. (Or sights if the gun has a rear sight or middle bead.)

You alter the stock when the gun does not naturally come to the shoulder with the sight (or sights) properly aligned.
 
I use the term "steam" but what actually is done is the stock wood is heated after being linen wrapped and soaked with raw linseed oil.
Technically it is hot oil bent!
 
That is why you start with stock fitting first then barrel bending or regulating if further correction is necessary.
Muzzle fiiing is not a good idea in my opinion either for looks and probably patterning efficiency.
