Don't know if this is worth anything. I have shot it a few times. No more than 50gr 2f and same measure of mixed shot. #9, #6 and #4. Also a couple times with a patched round ball. I just shot mistletoe out of my mesquites. The round balls at a 50 gallon drum. It did good. I traded for it about a year ago and has been put up for most of that time.
Asking $350 shipped.
Trades considered for revolver (s)

I can remove the barrel and the breech plug and take more pictures. It has a #11 nipple.

It started life as an 1861 Springfield rifle musket. If you can still read the lock plate it will tell you if it was made by Springfield or one of the contractors. It should also have a manufactured date on the lock and the tang of the barrel.

I see the date in your new photos (1862) but can't read the manufacturer's name.

Ok, I can make out Springfield and the 1862. I don't see anything on the tang or the barrel.

Make me an offer. Take shipping into consideration. You ain't gonna hurt me feelings. I'll either accept or decline....

This looks exactly like the civil war surplus bought by the Bannermans co. And modified to sell to to pilgrims heading west. You can bet the bank this saw action in the war between the states

I read something like that somewhere. Some others stated it wasn't. For sure it was done after the war. But by whom I suppose we'll never know. The ram rod looks original also. Might have been a Confederate rifle. I did get it here in Texas.

On the second set of pictures, the first one. I can make out FEILD. Unless there's another something feild?

The Union Army was always a good supplier of arms for the Confederacy! :D
