Lyman Great Plains rifle.

So, my father-in-law picked me up a pristine, .54cal Great Plains rifle. Was wondering if they Lyman receiver sight would fit this without drilling? The tang has a total of three screws...two large with a much smaller one between them.

The Lyman 57 GPR sight is designed for this rifle.
If you order one from Midway you can return it if it doesn’t work.

That same bolt pattern will also fit the the Pedersoli ghost peep to that rifle.
MUCH cleaner than the brick of a sight the Lyman 57 is.

The Lyman 57 is ugly as sin, but sure do like it on my Cabelas rifle.

I always thought a traditional Tang peep sight like a short Creedmore or Soule would look perfect on these rifles.

That's it. I have 5 of them now. Love em!
On several of mine I drilled out the peep hole and threaded it to accept the Williams apertures. Let's me quickly set it up for target or hunting.

It is set for 100 meters, loosen the thumb screw, raise it 4 turns and it is dead on at 200 yards.
