Is anyone familiar with a 19th century barrel maker named L.K. Platt?
I'm gathering information for the second edition of Michigan Gunmakers, and ran across a W.K. Strong rifle that used a barrel by someone named L.K. Platt. Strong is a Michigan maker, the one other rifle of his I looked at had a Pittsburg (sic) barrel on it.
Platt was an amazingly common name mid-19th century. I've looked in Sellers book, and in Swinneys 5-volumes on New York Makers, no mention of any L.K. Platt.
Ideas?
