Working on a restoration project

Replacing the flintcock, mainspring, a sear and a sliding safety button on one lock.

Tempering the parts in molten potassium nitrate at 770 produces a brown finish, but it will be shiny.

Wanted to get some ideas from the forum on aging cast steel, these parts are 8620 cast.
