Koto period Japanese match lock. 1580s to 1615. Mino prefecture manufacture.
Lock works and parts are very clean. Museum quality.
Barrel is about 40caliber and is just over 39inches. Barrel is engraved with Samurai/nature scenes. Samurai engraving overlaid with 24k gold. Mountains/hills overlaid in brass.
Many fittings are made of Sterling Silver.
Stock under barrel is burl wood and buttstock a straighter grain of burl.
Many nice motifs made of sterling silver.
A musket belonging to a Samurai of rank., the best quality.
Comes with original burl wood flask and bullet mould (scissor type mould, very old but casts)
