My new May 1980 issue of MuzzleBlasts magazine has an interesting (to me anyway) article by John Swett about building his own barrel rifling machine, He says that he attempted and failed at building one using the traditional kind with a spirally groove wooden roller as a guide. After much trouble making the guide he made one that used an already rifled barrel as a guide to cut rifling in a second barrel. No pics were printed, just some drawings.
I doubt that I will ever want to rifle a barrel, but I admire anyone with the talent to do so.
