Hey guys...4-5 times a year I give a talk at local schools about the Revolutionary War...I bring a couple of flintlocks and give fire buliding demos with a flint and steel...I like to start by talking about the Lost Colony and Jamestown and bring the kids up to the 1770s...I also discuss firearm developement and the technology avaliable at the time...

I carry photos of demonstrators in period dress with the fireams at use...I had found an excellent photo of a matchlock in use in this forum...Now I can't find it, I have a speech that I will give tomorrow...I had put in the web page listed on the remaining photos that I have and it takes me to Photobucket, but its no longer avaliable...The photo I was using had a guy in period dress, with the matchlock going off and his sword stuck in the ground before him...The web address is... http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d135/pphemken/MATCHLOCK_SHOOT_2005014.jpg

I don't know who posted, but I would love to either use this one again, or get a good picture from someone else, in period dress, discharging a matchlock...Can ya'll help??? Thanks a bunch...nchawkeye...

The pic you are talking about likely would have either been Pat Hemmken or Chuck Thoms, both guys post on here from tim to time. I'm sure at least one of them will see the post and reply. Also if you need I have a few pics of myself and friends in kit with our matchlocks that I would be happy to send to you if you would like. Just drop me a PM or an email and I will send them off.

That would have been one of the photos that Chuck and I posted over the years, the sword stuck in the ground was a give away, makes the best ashtray.

Don't get on this site much anymore, but if you still need photos, I can can set you up. Chuck posted my address.

Hope I can help

Pat
