I am just getting involved with Flintlocks, having borrowed a .40 caliber flintlock long rifle from a relative. I previously built a .50 caliber caplock pistol from a kit, but that was in the 80's and I haven't shot it that frequently. I was first introduced to cap locks in the scouts. I have a basic introduction to the rock crusher from the relative who loaned it to me, and I am looking forward to gaining proficiency with it.

Hey, Wounded Fox! Whereabouts in Virginia??
Loudoun County. Tippy top north of Virginia. Near Hillsboro. I joke that “I can see West Virginia from my front porch”. Technically it is true, because I look up at the ridge that the border runs along, and some of the trees up there are in WV.

Winchester; Home of the Percussion Cap! (N-NSA capitol!):thumb:
I know about the North South Shooting Association which is near Winchester, but the only NNSA I can find is in Mordor, er, Washington DC. My FIL is involved with NSSA.

In any case, I wasn’t aware that Winchester was the home of the percussion cap. That’s cool.
