This was originally set up for a scope, but I want to iron sight it.

25" barrel, 22" twist 45.

Shoots a 280gr SAA ok, should be able to go to 400gr and stabilize.

Want to be able to cover my regular hunting grounds, (50-150 yards) but would like to plink out to 300 if given the time (about a 25MOA drop)

About a 3/4" drop on the tang from top of barrel.

Thought about a rear barrel sight, a tang sight for long range, and probably a hooded front, since I seem to handle those better.

Thoughts?

As luck would have it, months after I bought this on consignment, I went back to the same store yesterday and found that the family found a sporter weight 45 barrel for the same action - I bought that too.

So, I won't need hunting sights for the heavy barrel. But would like to fashion a barrel mounted peep sight to use the existing scope holes.

Then all I need is a front hood.
