My name's Eric and I'm just beginning my adventure into BP guns. I'm looking to purchase my first muzzleloader and decided to join the forum so that I can do some research into beginner friendly/reliable guns at an entry level price and decent performance. I'm a forester in the state of Washington, and I'm looking to find a gun that I can have as much fun shooting at stumps as I will hunting with it.

Eric, Welcome to the forum. As far as getting a gun, just join the talkin' in whatever section you want. We can only guess that you probably want a rifle but so far you didn't say. Give us more clues and you'll receive several suggestions.

:hatsoff: Howdy and welcome to the forum.Enjoy your journey into the world of BP,Griz

indeed I am looking to purchase a rifle, but was hesitant to get to into details per the topic change warning. I've posted a post in the general muzzleloading forum referring to my questions. Give it a look and let me know your advice. I'll be appreciative.

Gidday from New Zealand. I started with a Kentucky percussion. Some swear by Hawkens. Either way it is fun.
