I'm from Montana. I have hunted with muzzle loaders since 1974. I lived in CO then and while up hunting one fall I met a guy from Indiana. He had a muzzle loader and asked if I wanted to shoot it. I fell in love with it. I built my own that winter. I still have that rifle. I moved to MT in 1990 and since MT didn't have a muzzle loader season my smokepole days became fewer. Yesterday I bought a Hawken Cougar with a 36 cal barrel on it.
I have an old pal lives in Sheridan; the interesting, knowledgeable gun writer Mike Venturino is based there, too. Great place, sadly I've never been!

Welcome from central Montana 40 miles South of Canada. Been here my whole life, muzzle loader since about 1989. My kids gave me one for my 50th birthday, and I've been sort of hooked ever since.
