Hi all,
this looks to be a great forum. I am here because i inherited what I hope is an interesting brown bess, but have found a lot of good information on other guns here as well.

Welcome from PA. Massachusetts and Brown Besses go together - you have become part of a long standing tradition. There's a lot of MusketMen here, and you will find no shortage of advice. Once you learn to use the Search Function you will find plenty to peruse. I would suggest you do a search on Paper Cartridges as well. Pull up a log, and don't be afraid to ask questions and chime in.

Please keep us posted on what will be an interesting ride...
