I'm new here, but not to black powder shooting. I started out back in 1976 with a 51 Navy colt reproduction and shot the heck out of that. My next gun was a .50 Hawken rifle made by CVA. Still have both guns and just added my first flintlock. I bought a Pedersoli Kentucky long rifle in .45 off of Gunbroker. Got it for a very good price. I've been collecting the things I'll need to make shooting this rifle a lot better. I've also placed a bid on a colonial flintlock pistol in .45 as well. I'll know in a couple of hours if I win it or not.

Thanks for having such a informative forum for us black powder fans.

Welcome and enjoy the site! Let us know how that Kentucky works for you.

Welcome to this site! Where in Iowa are you from? I have a Pedersoli flintlock that is a blast to shoot as well !!! Greg. :)

I collect and shoot just about any period of gun. Rifle, pistol, and shotgun. I'm just getting back into black powder and always wanted a Flintlock. Loved the Kentucky style. I also bought a flintlock pistol off of Gun Broker recently. I'm working on going out to shoot them. The nearest shooting range is outside of the city so I have to have a good amount of time to drive there and back. But I am itching to get out and smell the holy black.
