Hello all,

My name is Johnnie. I’m from West Tennessee. I’ve been shooting blackpowder for many years and was an ACW reenactor for a few years before spending over a decade visiting with Uncle Sam. I currently shoot a CVA Hawken built from a kit by my grandfather and looking forward to stepping into my first flintlock. I’ve been lurking and reading for a long time. Thanks for all the info and entertainment, especially all the trekking/ hunting photos!

It does. Grandad built in in the early seventies. Old enough to have “Connecticut Valley Arms” spelled out, not the newer style roll mark.

Welcome to the forum JohnnieT, from Nebraska. Your CVA is a good starter, but get ready for a little homework when you take on the fussy flintlock.
Both caps and flintlocks are a real hoot!
Flintlocklar 🇺🇲

when i was in the hospital recently for my cancer treatment a male night nurse i had was from tenn. never heard a real tenn accent before for it was the nicest southern accent ive ever heard. it was fun just to listen to him talk. my accent is from the canadian border and is a mixture of french and norwegian and canadian. ya sure you bet ya. also speak a little cree, sioux and french. also a little norwegian.
